Plans Made for Next Bach Academy in Ukraine

26. October 2017

It’s official: in November 2018 young musicians in Dnipro, Ukraine, will once again be spending ten days studying and performing the works of      Johann Sebastian Bach under the guidance of German instructors. Over the past several years, six successful Bach Academies have been organised in Donetsk and Dnipro. During these programmes, music students with exceptional enthusiasm come together to form an amazing orchestra within a short period of time. For the seventh Bach Academy, we will be picking up where we left off and paving the way for young people to learn more about Bach and his music.

The coursework will focus on the missa brevis Mass in G Major BWV 236, the cantata BWV 63 Christen, ätzet diesen Tag (Christians, engrave this day), the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major BWV 1068 and the motet BWV 225 Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied (Sing unto the Lord a new song). The programme will also include an organ course with works by J. S. Bach and his contemporaries.

We are asking for your financial support to help us fund this important project.
You can contribute to the success of our next Back Academy by making a donation (writing “Bachakademie 2018” as a reference on your bank transfer).
