The Neue Bachgesellschaft is mourning the loss of Helmuth Rilling. He is recognised for not only his outstanding musical achievements, but also his
excellent leadership and important impulses in decisive situations. Rilling served as Vice Chairman of the NBG from 1978 to 1990, then as Chairman until 1996. After stepping down from this role, he was granted honorary membership. Our deepest sympathy goes to Martina Rilling and the entire family.
The annual membership fees for our association have remained unchanged since 2018. Unfortunately, the NBG has not escaped the effects of rising prices and inflation, which is why the Executive Board and Board of Directors, after careful consideration, felt compelled to increase the membership fees as of 2026.
